Kaş – Demre

Turquoise Mediterranean Sea, beautiful villages and idyllic coves built the perfect combination on our tour from Kaş to Demre.

Start:     Kaş (Demre Hafen)
Finish:    Demre Hafen (Kaş)

3 days, 2 nights

Kas am AbendKaş was once known as the ancient town of  Antiphellos. Even today, the small town is crisscrossed with objects that are reminiscent of the ancient population. If you like, you can stretch your legs on a stroll to the well-preserved amphitheater. It’s just a short walk – about 500 meters. Or simply walk through the small village and drink a çay in the shade of palm trees.

Sarkopharg in SimenaKekova, the sunken city is mainly known for its ancient and the underwater ruins. When we slowly sail by boat along the coast, you can see the foundations of buildings, stairways and the harbor basin. And with a little imagination you can revive the ancient culture.

Opposite of Kekova lies the idyllic fishing village of Simena, where time seems to stand still. This place is only accessible by boat or by foot. A road to Simena does not exist yet. A steep path brings you to the castle of Simena, which can be visited for a small entrance fee. From here you have a wonderful view over the idyllic coastline and all the ancient ruins. Walking up there is worthwhile in any case!

Smuggers CaveThe Bay of Kalkan, Gokkaya Bay and the Bay of Kekova offer many idyllic coves, where we anchor and swim. In the Bay of Kalkan there is even the only sandy beach on this part of the coast.

In clear nights you can see the Milky Way right above you. And during our stops you can jump of the boat, swim or snorkel and enjoy the beautiful scenery. If you are lucky, the captain will make a delicious BBQ in the evening.

Felsengräber in Myra 4Tip: From the harbor of Demre, you have the opportunity to visit the ruins of Myra with its Lycian tombs and the amphitheater. The domain of the “real” Santa Claus – St. Nicholas of Myra – is found in the St. Nicholas Church in Demre. This tour is not included in the boat tour. You have to organize by yourself. But it’s easy to catch a dolmus to get to Demre and Myra. Or if you like, start from here by public bus to Olympos.
